The Paris Proposal

Desperate to secure a coveted year-long position at the Louvre, American, type-A, go-getter Jess, finds herself in a precarious situation: she must marry a French citizen to obtain a long-term visa. Enter, Theo, the charming if annoyingly “laissez-faire” French son of a storied winemaking family—who could use a foreign fake wife as an excuse to get his parents off his back about moving home and taking on the responsibility of running the family vineyard. It seems like a perfect arrangement, until real feelings get involved. As their fake relationship becomes increasingly real, they navigate the complexities of their families, cultural differences, and the looming threat of their secret being exposed.

This novel is inspired by Kristen Chaudiere’s real-life story of being an American woman who moved to Paris for a job at the Louvre and fell for a Frenchman from a winemaking family.
